A man was fatally attacked by a crocodile in Mwania village, Kithayoni, Kathonzweni Subcounty, as he tried to cross Athi River in Makueni County.
Confirming the incident, the area Red Cross Coordinator Evans Peter said the organization received a distress call on Tuesday and arrived went to the scene but found locals had already recovered the victim’s remains.
Police took the remains to the Makueni Referral Hospital mortuary.
The identity of the victim is yet to be released.
As a result the residents have called upon the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) to intervene and get rid of the crocodile to curb further deaths.
