According to Public Service Cabinet Secretary (CS) Moses Kuria, the National Youth Service's (NYS) goal of recruiting 15,000 troops in February will be done fairly without prejudice.
On Wednesday, Kuria said that successful candidates would be placed in a public portal one hour after the exercise concluded.
“No one will have a special list. Not the Director General, not myself as the Cabinet Secretary. Not the President of the Republic of Kenya. Kila mtu ang'ang'ane kwa uwanja," said Kuria.

He said early on Wednesday that the statewide recruiting exercise will occur in all Kenyan sub-counties from February 5 to 9, 2024.
Those interested must achieve several conditions, including a minimum grade of D (plain) or above on their KCSE exams.
Applicants must meet various requirements, including being a Kenyan citizen and residing in the applicable sub-county of application.
They must also be between the ages of 18 and 24, bring their original National ID and academic certificates to the recruitment venue, have a certificate of good conduct, be prepared for medical check-ups during and after the recruitment process, be willing to undergo rigorous physical training and be willing to serve voluntarily in any part of Kenya.
