Laikipia rancher Lucy Wambui Jennings, who was shot by unknown attackers, has succumbed to injuries sustained during the attack.
Jennings died on Thursday morning while being treated at the Pope Benedict XIV Hospital in Nyahururu.
According to his brother, Njihia Mbugua, the dead had been receiving treatment at the hospital's ICU, but her condition deteriorated in the early hours of Thursday when she breathed her last.
On January 21, the assailants ambushed Jennings on her way to church. She sustained gunshot wounds on the back of her head and her hand.

Police officers have arrested six people in connection with the event, although they have yet to be charged in court.
Laikipia West Sub-County Police Commander Benjamin Muhia said police are looking for more suspects and the weapon used in the shooting.
