President William Ruto has slammed the opposition for criticizing the Affordable Housing project and his other development plans to create jobs in the country.
Ruto, speaking in Meru County on Thursday to commission the construction of the Timau project, confirmed that the affordable housing project will provide viable employment opportunities for the youth.
He mocked the opposition's attempts to halt his projects through planned protests and court cases, stating that he would keep his promises.
"These people have toyed with us for many years. I want to say this time they can't lie to us again. We have a comprehensive plan," said Ruto.

"So I want to ask the opposition, instead of spreading propaganda they should show Kenyans. Our plan is housing; our plan is digital jobs and export of labour. What is their plan."
He said his government is the first in Kenya to have a clear job creation strategy.
"This is the administration that has a deliberate, intentional plan in creating jobs in Kenya," Ruto noted.
The Timau project will include 320 units, and Ruto is confident that it will create over 4,000 jobs and inject more than Ksh.230 million into the local economy.
He said he plans to build approximately 10,000 houses in the county and that the project has already employed 130,000 youth.
President Ruto was joined by his Deputy President, Rigathi Gachagua, Housing Principal Secretary (PS) Charles Hinga, Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza, and other Meru leaders.
Ruto will spend the next two days camping in Meru, commissioning several projects.
He has also started similar projects in Nakuru, Nandi, and Trans-Nzoia counties.
