Three suspects were charged on Monday at Milimani Law Court with the offense of publication of false information contrary to Section 23 of the Computer Misuse and Cyber Crime Act, No. 5 of 2018.

However, Arjun Chauhan Surya, Aftab Afzal Abass, and Ajmal Amershi Karim denied the charges and were freed on a Kes 200,000 bond and sureties of a similar amount.

Further, they were allowed an alternative cash bail of Kes 100,000 each and two contact persons.

They were arrested after officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) conducted an operation within Mombasa, Kitengela, and Nairobi to track the trio.

The DCI said that the suspects had gone into hiding after committing the offense reported by the complainant at Parklands Police Station.

The case will be mentioned on February 12, 2024.
