One more person has succumbed to the injuries sustained during a gas explosion in Embakasi, bringing the number of those killed to three while at least 200 others remain hospitalized.

Two people were confirmed deceased in an explosive fire incident in Embakasi's Mradi neighborhood. The deaths were reported to Nairobi West Hospital.

Several injured people have been transferred to several hospitals for treatment, with the following breakdown: Kenyatta Hospital received 21, Mama Lucy 160, Mbagathi Hospital 19, and Komarock Modern Hospital 14.

Police say a lorry loaded with petrol cylinders exploded at a suspected unauthorized station, causing a massive fire that spread to nearby structures.

Police DIG Douglas Kanja says that inquiries into the cause of the fire have begun. One individual was arrested in connection with the event.
