According to the Ministry of Energy, the cost of electricity is set to reduce by Kes 3. 44 across all consumers due to a significant drop in the foreign exchange adjustment rate.
“The decrease in total foreign currency exchange payments, that were made earlier this year, has reduced the Fuel Energy Cost half fold from Kes 6.45 to Kes 3.22 per KWh. This has contributed to the reduced cost of power. This means that buy 100 units pay Kes 344.”
