Velji Jayaben Jayeshikumar, the wife of slain Indian businessman Jayesh Kumar Kanji, will remain in custody for 14 days as police continue with their investigation into his brutal murder.
Police reports note that Kanji was last seen with his wife and child on CCTV before meeting a friend later.
According to the authorities, it was at this meeting that Vecaria enticed Kanji to Kilili in Lukenya, Machakos county, under the premise of purchasing land.
The report also found that the two traveled toward Mombasa Road in a vehicle that is currently in police custody, arriving at the crime site at about 11 a.m.
Vecaria's purported hitmen attacked them inside the broad land surrounded by bushes, striking Kanji in the back of the head with a blunt instrument. Armed with acid, the perpetrators stripped Kanji's clothes before dousing the body with the poison, which authorities think was an attempt to conceal evidence. Despite their efforts to disrupt the scene, the intruders hurriedly left the area, forgetting the weapons.
Detectives are yet to establish the motive of the murder. The four suspects will be remanded for 21 days.
