Four people have now died in Transmara, Narok County, and tensions are still high after another death was announced on Saturday morning.

A sugar plantation was also destroyed near the border of Nkararo and Enoreteet.

In response to the worsening situation, officers from GSU, RDU, AP, and ASTU are working together to patrol the border actively, according to Transmara West sub-county Commander Jamleck Ngaruiya.

The third day of this week's fighting has seen the use of firearms in the ongoing conflicts, which have left an unknown number of people injured by arrows.

Moreover, in the most recent attack, three houses were set on fire. Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki is being urged by worried citizens on both sides of the border to come and bring peace back.

The need for intervention and resolution is heightened by police intelligence suggesting possible political involvement in the recent clashes.

“Walifika wakaua mtu tunahuzunika sana because these were promising youth that were killed...polisi hawakuwa na inasikitishwa sana,” said a victim.

“Watoto wetu wanakufa kila siku na tunasikia uchungu tunataka serikali ikue.”
