Immigration and Citizens Services Principal Secretary Prof. Julius Bitok says the government has implemented measures to ensure Kenyans applying for passports get them within one month.
Speaking on Sunday, Bitok said the executive office has instructed the immigration department to ensure that the perennial delay at Nyayo House ends.
"President Ruto ordered me to make sure that Kenyans get passports promptly. He told me he had talked with Ndindi Nyoro to make sure that we have enough resources to streamline the process, so in the next three months we shall end the delay and ensure everyone gets their passport within a month of application," said Bitok.
Additionally, he said that President Ruto wants Kenyans to travel out of the country for job opportunities and is keen to ensure that happens.
This comes after Kenyans encountered yet another delay at the passport processing center, despite the government's previous assurances that there would be no further delays.
