Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki has denied allegations that several officers have withdrawn from the Haiti mission over safety concerns.
Speaking after visiting the Machakos County security committee, Kindiki stated that the Haiti deployment had been postponed due to a legal case that had been addressed.
The CS stated that the court acknowledged the need for an agreement with the Haitian government and that all systems were in place after the deal was struck a week ago.

The interior CS stated that the mission was in the pre-deployment stage and that all other programs, including detention and arrest laws and standard operating protocols, were in place.
He noted that Kenyan police personnel will be part of a multi-national security mission in Haiti, as do many other nations, fulfilling international duties.
Regarding land fraud and cartels in Machakos, Kindiki stated that it is a significant issue in some areas, such as Athi River, Mavoko, Kamulu, and others, where land fraudsters collude with public land officers.
He claimed that the perpetrators have been using bogus land title deeds, invading people's private property with hired goons who are paid to inflict harm on legitimate landowners, and invading big expanses of land.
The CS warned that they would execute the law and eliminate all criminal gangs, claiming that some were colluding with land officers and government officials.
