The Kenyan government has denied any involvement in the disappearance of a South Sudanese activist, Moris Mabior.
According to the government, Kenyan authorities have never investigated the activist.
Morris Mabior went missing in Kenya on February 4, 2023, after allegedly being taken by individuals dressed in police uniforms in Nairobi.

In a complaint filed with the East African Court of Justice, the AG, through state counsel Wanjiku Mwangi, claims that Mabior has never been arrested or investigated by the police.
According to inspector Vitalis Kibet's declaration, the top inspector named Ruto, who supposedly arrested Mabior on terrorist charges, is not a member of the Anti-terrorism Police Unit.
"That at no point did the Anti-terrorism Police Unit have any reason to be involved with the subject as he was not under any investigations or a person of interest for the unit or Kenyan Government," according to the statement.
In the case, the Pan African Lawyers Union (PALU) has sued the governments of South Sudan and Kenya over the purported arrest and incarceration of the activist, claiming that it is illegal.
They want the two governments compelled to provide information regarding Mabior's whereabouts.
