A middle-aged man in Lurambi Kakamega county is counting losses after losing hundreds of chickens in an alleged poisoning.
The incident, in which unknown people committed the horrible act, resulted in the deaths of chickens.
“My flock of chicken was poisoned by unknown people. I do not know what their motive was,” Eshiwani said.
"When I returned home, I found five of them dead. "Before I knew it, ten others had died in quick succession," he grieved.

Locals decried the act, shocked by the unexpected turn of events.
“I am shocked that someone can do this kind of thing in our village. I strongly condemn this act,” Bernard Okwara, a village elder, said.
The people stated that this is the first time this type has occurred in the village.
They want an investigation started and legal action taken against those responsible.
