Guests staying at the Audrey Resort in Alego/Usonga, Siaya County, are still in shock after an offer drowned while swimming in the facility's pool.
Constable Austin Ouma, who worked at the Ratado police station in Ugenya sub-county, is alleged to have gone for refreshment and enjoyment when he died unexpectedly.
According to a police incident record, the resort's manager reported to the Siaya police station that one of their clients drowned while swimming in the deep end of the pool.

It has been revealed that the deceased, along with his two other coworkers, Peter Mucheru and Samwel Kirogo, were visiting the resort for fun. Ouma dove into the pool's deep end and did not return, causing his friends and other guests to be concerned.
The report also stated that the pool attendant went into the water and retrieved him while he was unconscious. He was taken to Siaya County Referral Hospital and proclaimed dead upon arrival.
The officer's body is being preserved at the Siaya County Hospital Mortuary pending an autopsy.
