The Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) has reiterated its dedication to upholding the strictest safety and quality requirements for agricultural goods sold in the market.
Protecting farmers' interests is the top priority, so KEBS has stepped up efforts to guarantee that only certified premium fertilizers are available in agriculture.
In a statement made public on Tuesday, KEBS stressed its proactive approach to quality assurance, which entails stringent testing, close observation, and cooperation with regulatory agencies and industry stakeholders.
"We are deeply committed to ensuring that farmers have access to safe and reliable agricultural products, especially during crucial planting seasons," stated a representative from KEBS.

"Through our stringent quality assurance protocols, we are taking decisive action on any suspicious products in the market."
Additionally, KEBS has urged farmers to maintain their vigilance and notify the appropriate authorities of any concerns they may have about the quality of agricultural inputs. The "Wajibika Na KEBS" campaign, which KEBS launched to empower farmers further in this endeavor, encourages community members to actively participate in protecting the quality of the product.
As part of the campaign, farmers are encouraged to look for the S-Mark permit to confirm the legitimacy of agricultural products. Sending the code located beneath the S-Mark or the ISM Mark to 20023 will enable you to obtain information about the product's manufacturing process.
KEBS should be notified immediately of any disparities or doubts about a product's legitimacy by calling their Toll-Free Number, 1545, during regular business hours.
The "Wajibika Na KEBS" campaign underscores the importance of collaboration between regulatory authorities and the community in ensuring a secure and dependable marketplace for agricultural inputs.
