Narc-Kenya party leader has blasted President Ruto over his remarks regarding striking doctors, refuting claims that the government lacks funds to pay them.
Speaking in Naivasha on Monday, Karua slammed the head of state for the government's extravagant spending as Kenyans are outraged by the increase in the price of essential commodities.
“Stop the arrogance of chest-thumping, sit down and talk to the doctors. You cannot say there is no money yet we see you splashing our money on luxury items. The tea alone taken at State House is enough to meet the doctor’s demands,” she said.

She added, "It is unconscionable for the regime to continue splashing taxpayers' money on non-essential luxury items like motor vehicles, new pavilions in Stat House, and fancy umbrellas."
She criticized the state of public hospitals, claiming they lack the appropriate staff and medical resources.
President Ruto broke his silence on Sunday's ongoing doctors' strike, telling them to stop demanding pay increases and interns' allowances, citing the country's high wage cost.
According to the Head of State, Kenya spends Ksh. $1.1 trillion of the Ksh. $2.2 trillion received yearly on salary and wage payments.
“It is important for us to agree that we must live within our means. We cannot continue to spend the money we do not have,” President Ruto said.
