Text Book Centre (TBC) has partnered with Makueni County to enhance Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) centers in the devolved unit.
The partnership aims to supply ECDE centers with essential books and stationery, promoting quality learning experiences for children from an early age.
Speaking during the formalizing of the agreement, Governor Mutula Kilonzo Junior emphasized the importance of providing children with a strong foundation through quality early childhood education.
“My government is committed to increasing the number of fully operational ECDE centers across the county to increase their number by over 50% in the next 3 years.”
Further, he said the collaboration underscores Kenya’s commitment to expanding access to quality education, recognizing the critical role of early childhood education in shaping future academic success and national development.

TBC will leverage its network to source supplies cost-effectively and facilitate donor support, curating product packs for individual contributions and providing logistical assistance for distribution.
Text Book Centre Director and COO Chetan Rughani reaffirmed the organization’s dedication to supporting ECDE centers and fostering conducive learning environments for young learners in Makueni County.
The partnership involves Makueni County’s commitment of 105 million shillings to purchase materials from the Text Book Centre for the 1,100 ECDE centers hosting 40,000 children.
The collaboration will run for three months, with TBC consolidating book donations and facilitating contributions through its 12 branches.
