The residents of Matungulu constituency in Machakos county are in mourning following the passing of their former parliamentary aspirant, Dr. Philip Munyao Mutisya.
Dr. Philip Munyao, who ran independently for the Matungulu parliamentary seat in the 2022 general elections but was defeated by the incumbent Hon. Mutinda Mule, tragically succumbed to injuries sustained in a severe road accident. He passed away while undergoing treatment at a Nairobi hospital.
His untimely passing occurred just a few weeks after he joined the party led by President William Ruto, the United Democratic Alliance (UDA). Dr. Philip publicly declared his support for the party during an event held at the Machakos UDA office, attended by the Party's National Organizing Secretary, Hon. Vincent Kawaya.
Dr. Philip was one of the youthful leaders who aspired to uplift the people of Matungulu from poverty and deliver them from inadequate leadership once elected as their Member of Parliament. His sudden demise is a significant loss to the entire constituency. May his soul rest in peace.
