Thika Anti-Corruption Court is set to charge Kiambu County Assembly Deputy Speaker John Njue Njiru for alleged involvement in bribery.
In a statement, the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) says Njue is accused of soliciting a bribe of Kes 130,000 to 'facilitate' and have the complainant allowed to develop her plot worth Kes 15 million within Thika Town.
The deputy speaker, the MCA for the Hospital Ward, is facing charges of receiving a bribe contrary to the law.
EACC detectives arrested Njue on June 13, 2023. He has been out on police bail for Kes 100,000.
