A Kenya Air Force officer and another person have died in a traffic accident near Nyamonye on the Bondo-Usenge route.
Paytone Mitch Opiyo and Richard Omondi were killed in a head-on accident between two motorbikes.
According to Siaya County Police Commander Cleti Kimaiyo, the Air Force commander was on a motorbike with his brother Felix Opiyo as they traveled from Usenge to Bondo when he struck head-on with an oncoming motorcycle.

He added that the cop and the other rider both died on the scene.
The county police chief said that Mitch Opiyo's brother, Felix Opiyo, and another passenger carried by the other motorcyclist, Walter Aloo, suffered leg fractures.
Kimaiyo stated that cops from the Bondo traffic base responded to the spot and transported both dead to the Bondo sub-county hospital mortuary for autopsy.
While verifying the unfortunate situation, the police chief claimed that the pillion passengers were evacuated to Siaya County referral hospital in critical condition and that the two heavily damaged motorbikes were brought to Nyamonye police post for examination.
