The ferry carried 23 high school students and grade 8 pupils.
According to the Baringo County commissioner, divers discovered the body near Kokwa Island at 6:30 a.m. on the third day of their search effort.
The situation deteriorated when the boat's propeller became trapped in a fishing net, preventing it from maneuvering the seas.
Panic spread as some passengers leaped into the lake, fearing the increasingly harsh water. This sudden weight change destabilized the vessel, leading it to capsize.
Sixteen people were rescued after a nearby board heard their cries. The rest were not fortunate.
