Kenya Railway's commuter trains run daily to and from Nairobi's city center via five routes: Embakasi, Syokimau, Limuru, Lukenya, and Ruiru.

According to the Meteorological Department, most of Kenya is experiencing severe downpours due to the lengthy rainy season, which is projected to continue until June.

In Nairobi, torrential rain toppled two trees in the city's central business area on Tuesday night, slowing traffic on Wednesday morning.

The overnight rains also wreaked devastation in Mathare, Thika, Parklands, Imaara Daima, and Lang'ata Road, submerging houses in floodwaters.

Kitengela Road, the city's primary road to Nairobi, was closed when the River Athi overflowed its banks.
