National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula intervened and restored order in the House during the debate on the impeachment of Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mithika Linturi. Tensions escalated as some members stood up from their seats, while others moved onto the floor, chanting "Linturi must go".
The commotion began when MP Robert Mbui urged fellow members to demonstrate leadership and steadfastness in combating corruption by proceeding with the impeachment of the Cabinet Secretary. Wetangula faced challenges in restoring order as the loud and chaotic sounds filled the House.
“Order members, Order!? Will you take your seats?”” he quipped amidst deafening sounds from members shouting Linturi must go.
Issuing a stern warning to the members, Wetangula reminded them of the consequences they faced, emphasizing that failure to obey his directives could result in their expulsion from the proceedings.
