President William Ruto has asked the Ministry of Education to postpone the reopening date of all schools as heavy rains and floods continue to cause havoc across the country.
President Ruto addressed the public on Friday, announcing that the school start date will be postponed "until further notice."
The original school reopening date has been extended from Monday, April 29th to Monday, May 6th.

"The Ministry of Education is directed to postpone the reopening of all schools in the country for the second term until further notice," Ruto said in a statement on Friday.
According to the school calendar, learners who were supposed to start school on Monday, April 29, were to report as of May 6, 2024, but due to the recent changes, they will have to stay at home until further notice.
