In Mai Mahiu, Nakuru County, where violent floods killed over 60 people after a dam in the area burst its banks and swept away settlements, another body has been found during the ongoing rescue operation.
According to Lyford Kibaara, the commissioner for Nakuru County, the recovery brings the total number of confirmed deaths to 61.
On Monday night, the corpse was found during a mission headed by Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) and National Youth Service (NYS) officers.
Twenty-nine more people are still unaccounted for as the search continues.
