Police in Bomet County are investigating an incident where a woman's decomposing body was found inside her home, wrapped with a blanket.
The deceased was identified as Faith Kerubo, a casual laborer at a nearby tea estate.
According to the authorities, the corpse was discovered by a neighbor who had gone to the woman's home to borrow some food.

“The neighbour knocked and called at the door, but there was no response, prompting her to enter the house only to find the deceased lying on her side, and covered with a blanket and in a decaying state,” said the police from Konoin.
The body, fully dressed in a black skirt and white top, had significant bruises. The cause and motive for her death have yet to be determined, but the police suspect homicide.
The body was sent to the Kapkatet Sub County Hospital mortuary for preservation and autopsy while police began their investigation.
