ICT and the Digital Economy Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo has appointed Agnes Kalekye Nguna as the new Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) Managing Director and CEO.
On Friday, the KBC Board Chairperson announced that Kalekye's appointment is effective immediately for three years.
"The Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communications, and the Digital Economy, Eliud Owalo, FIHRM, EGH has appointed Ms. Agnes Kalekye Nguna as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC)," Director of Public Communications Mulei Muia stated.
Ms. Nguna, who brings a wealth of experience to her new role, is currently the Chief Operating Officer at The Star Publications and also serves as chairperson of the Media Owners Association.
Following her appointment, Ms Nguna will take over from Acting MD Paul Macharia, installed on December 19 for six months.
