A fire in Kerugoya, Kirinyaga County, destroyed property worth unknown money.

According to James Karigu, the Kirinyaga Jua Kali Association chairperson, several Miringa-iri stores have been demolished.

"We suspect it was an arson attack as the fire broke out soon after the security guards left the premises in the morning," Karigu stated.

The incident occurred just a month after one of the affected garages was broken into.

"Several tools and spare parts worth millions of shillings were stolen at the time," traders complained.

Locals have urged police officers to investigate the incident and arrest those responsible.
