The Director-General of the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA), accused of fraudulently issuing a Ksh.4.8 million deal for the supply and maintenance of training machinery, has been released on a ksh one million bond.
The prosecution argues that Stephen Ogenga exploited his position to illegally benefit Xponics Limited by authorizing payments for a tender for the supply, delivery, installation, training, servicing, maintenance, and repair of sewing and training machines totaling Ksh. 4,800,654.
While granting him bail, the court directed the accused not to interfere with the witnesses lined up in the case and to deposit their traveling documents with the court.
Ogenga was charged alongside former NITA Boss Paul Kipsang Kosgei who did not plead to the charge.
He was ordered to appear in court on Wednesday for plea-taking.
