At least 22 people have been killed by flooding triggered by severe rain and strong winds on South Africa's eastern coast.
At least 11 other people were killed in the Eastern Cape, according to a representative for Nelson Mandela Bay municipality, which was hit hard by the floods.
Over 2,000 people have been evacuated from Nelson Mandela Bay, primarily from temporary houses in the municipality's slums.

Local officials issued a call for clothes, food, and blanket donations.
The provincial administration of adjacent KwaZulu-Natal also reported that at least 11 persons had perished in and around the port city of Durban.
KwaZulu-Natal provincial officials have announced a state of alert.
According to a provincial government statement, "55 people sustained minor to moderate injuries and are being treated in hospitals."
"At least 120 people have been displaced and three temporary shelters have been established," it added.
In 2022, Durban and its surrounding area had the greatest floods in South African history, resulting in mudslides that killed over 400 people.
On Monday night, rescue services were mobilized in both impacted provinces, destroying homes and roads flooded.
According to the National Meteorological Institute, South Africa is now experiencing a "cut off low" pressure system, which is characterized by heavy rains and a cold snap that may bring hail, snow, and high winds.
