Former National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) Director General Paul Kipsang Kosgei has been granted a Ksh.3 million bond with a surety or Ksh.1 million cash bail in a graft case.
Kosgei was charged with conferring a benefit of Ksh.5,388,410.69 to Xponics Limited by authorizing payments to the company with the tender for the supply, delivery, installation, commissioning, training, service, maintenance, and repair of sewing and training machines.
Prosecution Counsel Jeremiah Walusala informed the court that the accused allegedly committed the act between January 31 and March 29, 2019.
The court also ordered the ex-NITA boss to submit his passport at the registry and warned him not to interfere with witnesses.
Kosgei's arraignment came three days after NITA's Director General Stephen Ogenga, Xponics Limited, James Waweru, and Sheila Wambui Nyakinyua were charged with abuse of office and fraudulent claim to public property, respectively.
Ogenga is accused of submitting a false bid to gain an unfair advantage in the procurement for the supply, delivery, installation, commissioning, training, servicing, maintenance, and repair of sewing and training machines for the 2017/18 fiscal year.
The case will be heard On June 18,
