Detectives from the directorate of criminal investigations have arrested four police officers and two civilians for stealing Ksh.2.2 million from a school accountant.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said that the suspects followed Rophine International School's accountant from a bank in Utawala on Monday before breaking into his car and taking the money.

According to DCI, the money was supposed to pay off salary arrears for casual workers at the institution.

The six suspects allegedly followed the accountant from the bank to where he parked outside the school.

The accountant allegedly entered the school with some money, but when he returned to collect the rest, he found his car had been stolen.

The suspects, three police sergeants, a corporal, a constable from Kasarani Police Station, and a police constable from Ruai Police Station, were apprehended in the Station's parking lot.
