Social networking platform X, previously Twitter, has begun to make tweets that users 'like' private to protect the user's privacy.
On Wednesday, the network's engineers said Likes will be "private for everyone to better protect your privacy."
Consequently, a user may view the posts they have liked while others cannot.

The 'Like' count and other post metrics will still be displayed in one's notifications.
X users will no longer be able to view who liked another user's post in the main feed, but the post's author will be able to see who liked them.
The Likes tab appeared on users' profiles alongside the list of their posts, reposts, comments, and shared material.
Originally known as 'Favourites' until 2015, the 'like' function was mostly used to show agreement, recognition, endorsement, laughing, and support.
However, it has sparked outrage when users, particularly public personalities, 'like' inappropriate messages.
The option to conceal Likes was previously provided only to Premium customers, as Musk used it to encourage users to pay for the social networking site.
The new step comes only one week after X revised its guidelines to allow graphic material and pornography on the social media site.
