The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has called upon all registered taxpayers to update their details on iTax to facilitate a smooth ongoing data clean-up exercise of personal identification numbers.
In a notice, the Authority stated that taxpayers should update their phone numbers, physical addresses, email addresses, physical location of the business, residency status, and directorships or partnerships held.
Further, KRA has assured that the exercise aims to elevate service delivery to taxpayers and ensure the integrity of the taxpayer register.
“KRA would like to notify all registered taxpayers of the ongoing data clean-up exercise of taxpayer’s PIN registration details. The exercise aims to ensure the integrity of the taxpayers register to enhance service delivery to all taxpayers.”
The taxman said the Itax system has already rolled out a one-time password (OTP) to update taxpayers’ contacts.

Upon logging in to the website, the mobile number registered with iTax will be displayed. An OTP will then be sent to validate contact details.
Where the number is incorrect, taxpayers will need to capture the correct mobile number. An OTP will then be sent, enabling the individual to access the system.
