The President of the Law Society of Kenya has expressed concerns about the abduction of another Twitter activist, Nyamweya Oginga while growing police abductions and demonstrations against the now-withdrawn Finance Bill 2024.

Odhiambo posted on her X account on Wednesday evening that Peter Nyamweya Oginga was taken at 9.30 p.m. in Juja.

"We demand his immediate release!" "No more abductions!!!" she wrote.

The LSK president had just returned from an appearance on Citizen TV's JKLive Show, during which she decried the abductions and drew comparisons to the totalitarian times of the late former President Daniel Moi.

"This is shocking! I feel like we are going back to the Moi era; the last we heard of abductions and torture chambers. Our country is singing about and in the region people are praising Kenyans such abductions coming back. Some of the abducted persons have been released but others remain unaccounted for," she said.

She also called for the quick release of detained protestors and demanded responsibility from law police.

Over the last two weeks, those who have spoken out online against the controversial Finance Bill 2024 have been kidnapped and detained incommunicado before being freed due to public outrage.

Gabriel Oguda and Shad Khalif are among them, as are Franje, Drey Mwangi, and Osama Otero, the creators of the X pages.
