The All Saints Cathedral demands an apology from IG Japhet Koome for the police personnel's behavior during the anti-Finance Bill protests.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the church stated that demonstrators sought safety on their property on Tuesday, June 25. Still, authorities nonetheless launched tear gas canisters and fired live rounds of gunfire into their compound, injuring some.

"We therefore demand an apology from the inspector General of Police for his officers nearly deconsecrating our place of worship," said the cathedral.

Police allegedly killed over 27 young people and injured many more after firing live rounds into unarmed crowds. Human rights groups, however, say the number could be higher as more bodies remain unidentified in morgues.
