The Milimani Anti-Corruption Court in Nairobi charged three persons on Tuesday with stealing banned powder milk collected by the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
Florance Muiruri, Moses Odhiambo, and Daniel Ngugi were accused of stealing 1,511 25-kilogram bags of rejected milk from Sambot Ship's Contractors in Mombasa on May 3, 2023.
They were also accused of tampering with items under customs supervision. The powdered milk, after being confiscated for destruction, was under customs control.
The trio appeared before Chief Magistrate Victor Wakhumile and pleaded not guilty to all counts. They were freed on a Ksh.200,000 bond and an alternative cash bail of Ksh.100,000.
