Immaculate, like many others, took to the streets of Nairobi to voice her concerns and demand change. The protests were part of a larger national movement against government reforms, economic hardship, and social injustice. For Immaculate, it was an opportunity to stand in solidarity with her fellow Kenyans and exercise her right to peaceful protest.
However, the atmosphere shifted dramatically when a group of goons allegedly infiltrated the protest, turning what was meant to be a peaceful assembly into a scene of violence and looting. These individuals, reportedly sent to incite chaos and steal from local businesses, began to disrupt the demonstration, threatening the safety of both protesters and bystanders.

Determined to maintain the integrity of the protest, Immaculate and several others took it upon themselves to protect their community. She picked up a baton, not to incite violence, but to defend those around her from aggressive intruders.
Immaculate and her fellow protectors formed a human shield, standing between the attackers and the businesses they targeted. Their presence and courage deterred further acts of vandalism and theft, allowing many shop owners to secure their properties and ensuring the safety of numerous protesters.
