Law Society of Kenya (LSK) has confirmed that 187 protestors arrested during the anti-government protests in Nairobi have been freed on bond.

Speaking on X, the LSK president Faith Odiambo said the minors were granted a Kes 10,000 bond each, while adults received Kes 50,000.

She stated that the minors will be held at Capitol Hill police station, whereas the adults will be released once they provide information about their close family and relatives.

Further, Odhiambo stated that the court will address the issue of protecting the children involved in today’s (Thursday) session.

Tuesday’s protests turned violent after suspected goons infiltrated the peaceful march and caused mass destruction of property along Tom Mboya Avenue in the city’s capital.
