Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have detained four people in connection with an arson incident at the Kikuyu Constituency Development Fund (CDF) offices during last week's anti-government rallies.
Detectives recovered stolen materials from the offices after apprehending three individuals in Kikuyu: Samuel Muiri Ruiyi, Samuel Wanjohi, and a 16-year-old kid whose identity has been concealed.
"From the house of 28-year-old Samuel Muiri Ruiyi, who is a driver at a primary school in the Nderi area, a 32-inch TV set was recovered before he led the officers to his accomplice Samuel Wanjohi, 23, who was also in possession of another 32" Sony TV belonging to the CDF offices," the DCI said in an X statement Friday.
"A 16-year-old Form Three boy from a Kabete school was also among those arrested, after he was captured on a CCTV footage disappearing with a bluetooth speaker. The speaker was also recovered."
The fourth suspect, Paul Kuria Njenga, 23, was apprehended in Limuru's Rironi neighborhood.

"Paul Kuria Njenga, 23, was also arrested after he was seen stealing several equipment that he later sold to unsuspecting buyers in Kitengela," said the DCI.
The accused are jailed until their arraignment at the Kiambu Law Courts.
This comes after the DCI suspects were apprehended, and two other suspects, Naftary David, and Kuru Waweru, were charged with the offense.
They were accused of setting fire to Kikuyu CDF offices worth Ksh.20 million and an official vehicle worth Ksh.2.5 million.
On June 25, 2024, they were also accused of damaging the Kikuyu Sub-County Deputy County Commissioner's office, which was valued at Ksh.600,000. They were released on a ksh 1 million bond.
Four more suspects linked to the arson incident where CDF offices were looted and torched in Kikuyu Constituency have been arrested and several recoveries made from their houses.
