Former Education Cabinet Secretary(CS) Ezekiel Machogu has thanked President William Ruto for the opportunity to lead the country’s education docket.
Speaking on Thursday evening on x, Machogu pointed out that he had a fulfilling and highly enriching experience serving as Cabinet Secretary.

The Head of State announced the sacking of all cabinet secretaries except Prime CS Musalia Mudavadi on Thursday evening.
Speaking when he made the announcement, President Ruto retained only Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi amid pressure from the Generation Z Movement.
The affected Cabinet Secretaries include Kithure Kindiki (Interior and National Administration), Njuguna Ndung’u (National Treasury), Aisha Jumwa (Gender and Affirmative Action), Aden Duale (Defence ), Zachariah Njeru (Water and Sanitation), Soipan Tuya (Environment and Forestry) and Ezekiel Machogu (Education).
Penina Malonza (East African Community) and Suzan Nakhumicha (Health).
Others are Rebecca Miano(Trade and Investment), Salim Mvurya (Mining and Blue Economy), Simon Chelugui (Cooperatives) ,Moses Kuria (Public Service, Performance and Delivery Management ),Alfred Mutua,(Tourism and Wildlife),Kipchumba Murkomen(Road and Transport), Alice Wahome(Lands and Urban Development),Eliud Owalo (ICT and Digital Economy),Mithika Linturi (Agriculture),Ababu Namwamba (Sports),Davis Chirchir (Energy and Petroleum ), and Florence Bore(Labour and Social Protection).
President William Ruto vowed to engage in extensive consultations, including setting up a ‘broad-based government’ to accelerate reforms targeted at taming wastage in his Administration.
Further, he said that the broad–based government will help accelerate and expedite the nation's much-needed urgent interventions.
“Upon reflection, listening keenly to what the people of Kenya have said, I will immediately engage in extensive consultations across different sectors and political formations, to set up a broad-based government,” he said.
Ruto stated that the new formation will assist his government in implementing radical programs focusing on raising domestic resources, expanding job opportunities, and managing the Nation’s huge debt.
According to the Head of State, this will eliminate wastage and unnecessary duplication of government agencies.
