President William Ruto has appointed Patrick Mwiti Arandu as the Commissioner of Prisons.
In a statement to newsrooms on Friday by State House spokesperson Hussein Mohamed Arandu replaces Brigadier (rtd) John Warioba who will now proceed on terminal leave.
Brigadier (Rtd) Warioba took over as Commissioner General of Prisons in November 2021 following the sacking of Wycliffe Ogalo by then-President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Warioba is an extensively experienced former soldier who has, among other roles, served as a sector commander for AMISOM in the fight against Al-Shabaab in Somalia.
