The shooter, identifiable by his long brown hair and grey shirt with khaki pants, carefully targeted his shot. As he fired, chaos erupted on the ground with people screaming and scrambling. Moments later, multiple gunshots were heard in response, striking the gunman. The cameraman, Michael Difrischia, then captured the shooter lying limp and lifeless on the roof. An off-camera voice commented, "That's exactly why we need f***ing Trump here."
Difrischia, who was with his wife Amber watching the rally from outside the main grounds, recounted the events leading up to the shooting. Amber noticed the man climbing onto a nearby building, rifle in hand. Despite efforts from the crowd below to alert authorities, the shooter managed to position himself on the roof and fire his shots.
The shooter was met with immediate return fire, which killed him. Other videos from the scene captured the aftermath, showing the shooter's lifeless body. The identity and motive of the shooter remain unknown, but the case is being investigated as an attempted assassination, which former President Trump miraculously survived.
