A popular X personality known by the username @MetroBoomin is still in police custody hours after being arrested during the peaceful anti-government rallies in the CBD

PoloKimani shared images with his X followers as he stood close to guys brandishing sticks and wearing orange reflector jackets.

Kimani stated that the guys brandishing sticks were not thugs but business owners willing to safeguard their establishments from unruly individuals.

Just an hour before, Kimani had sarcastically stated, "Police are actually friendly today to be honest. Speaking as a person in grao..."

"Hii ya orange ndio sasa inanuka msuri Sasa. Nairobi CBD. #RutoMustGo!" he wrote.

However, around 14:04 p.m., Kimani posted a photo of himself sitting on a pavement with other males. Police are seen standing over them.

He is clutching the Kenyan flag and a pair of black sunglasses.

He just tweeted, "I've been arrested."

Soon after posting the tweet, hundreds of his fans and Kenyans began calling for his freedom.
