The man accused of brutally killing at least 42 women and dismembering their bodies before dumping them in a quarry in the Kware neighborhood of Embakasi South has denied confessing to the crimes and accused police of abuse after being arrested on Monday.
Collins Jumaisi Khalusha, via his lawyer John Maina Ndegwa, said that he was tortured into confessing to murdering the ladies and pleaded with the court to get him medical attention.
"My client is in urgent need of medical attention."Ndegwa contended before the Makadara Law Courts that he was subjected to harassment and torture during his confinement and that the public's perception of him as having murdered 42 people is ludicrous.

“My client, as he sits there, is in dire need of urgent medical attention…for reasons that the period under detention, he was subjected to molestation, torture and the confession that the public is being treated to having murdered 42 persons is laughable,” argued Ndegwa before the Makadara Law Courts.
“My client has been subjected to horrendous inhuman mistreatment so that he can confess to issues which are alien to him. I pray that the court directs for urgent medical attention even as they do their investigations.” he added
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) denied the abuse charges, pointing out that just one police officer was sent to the suspect to record his testimony.
The DCI asked to keep Khalusha for 30 days, awaiting the conclusion of the murder investigation, claiming that if he is freed, he will likely continue his criminal activities.
The investigating agency also informed the court that they needed additional time to track down witnesses and victims' families who were spread across the nation, as well as to conduct DNA testing, an identification parade, and submit the suspect to a mental evaluation.
The defense challenged this, instead requesting the court to permit the police to keep the suspect for 14 days.
