A woman has been confirmed dead after being involved in an accident along the Kisumu-Busia route.
According to Siaya County Police Commander Cleti Kimaiyo, the woman was killed in a hit-and-run incident in the Lolwe region of Gem Yala.
Kimaiyo stated that they are still trying to identify the victim but estimate she is in her 40s.
Officers from a neighboring police station transported the corpse to the Yala Sub County Hospital mortuary.
Police said an identification and postmortem exercise will be held at the site.
