The international sports anti-doping agency has banned Marathoners Judith Jerubet, bronze medalist at the 2024 Wuhan Marathon, and Daniel Muindi, silver medalist at the 2024 Lima Marathon, for doping violations.

On March 24, Jerubet ran 2:27:38 in Wuhan, trailing only Ethiopia's Mare Dibaba (2:25:12) and Kenya's Pauline Chemning Korikwiang (2:26:40).

Jerubet has been suspended for two years for using the prohibited drug triamcinolone acetonide.

Muindi, 29, a five-time half-marathon winner in India and Poland, has been disqualified for three years after a urine sample from the Lima Marathon in Peru on May 19 tested positive for the banned anabolic steroid norandrosterone.

In Peru, he finished second in 2:12:53, trailing only his countryman Dominic Letting (2:11:48).

Kenya remains a Category A country on the WADA list, requiring stringent testing for its athletes.
