Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition leader apologized for the mayhem during the Azimio conference after rowdy youths forced the Wiper party leader to cut short his speech.

Raila Odinga apologized to journalists caught up in the chaos caused by unruly youths. He stated that the coalition would assess the situation and rectify the gaps that led to the security breach.

This came when youths attacked the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Foundation.

Raila stated that while some of the adolescents who attacked the premises are known to the parties, the majority are unknown.

“The Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Foundation (JOOF), the venue of yesterday’s meeting, has successfully hosted important events at more defining moments in the country, without any such ugly incidents,” Rail said.

The scheduled Azimio post-Parliamentary Group (PG) meeting address in Nairobi turned rowdy on Wednesday, with Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka's speech cut short and participants forcibly removed from the grounds.

The men then turned their attention to the journalists covering the briefing, forcing them out of the premises.

Azimio halted the address but later issued a statement detailing resolutions from the PG meeting. The most important of these was that the coalition would not be part of President William Ruto's planned broad-based administration in the aftermath of the statewide demonstrations.

Azimio also asked for the quick arrest of rogue police officers involved in the maiming, killing, and abduction of nonviolent Kenyan demonstrators from the start of the Finance Bill demonstrations on June 18, 2024.
