The National Housing Corporation (NHC) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) David Mathu has won the Young African Business Leader of the Year Award in the 14th edition of the African Business Leadership Awards (ABLA).

According to ABLA, NHC has undergone remarkable organizational growth, with expanded project portfolios and enhanced operational capabilities under Mr. Mathu’s leadership.

African Leadership Organisation  Group General Manager Ehis Ayere commended Mathu for showing dynamism by garnering strategic partnerships with local and international stakeholders, significantly bolstering the corporation's capacity to fulfill its mission.

“Mr. Mathu’s emergence as co-winner of the Young African Business Leader of the Year Award underscores his exceptional contributions to the industry and serves as a testament to his enduring impact on the socio-economic development of Kenya.

The Young African Business Leader of the Year Award celebrates exceptional individuals under 40 who embody transformative leadership and serve as inspirational figures in the marketplace.

Other participants included Rebecca Miano, former Kenyan Cabinet Secretary for Investments, Trade and Industry; Sam Mantekane, Prime Minister of Lesotho; Jonathan F. Koffa, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Liberia and Ahmed Shide, Minister of Finance, Ethiopia.

Renganaden Padayachy, Minister of Finance, Economic Planning, and Development, Mauritius; and Rindra Hasimbelo Rabarinirinarison, Minister for Economy and Finance, Madagascar.
