Police officers have launched an investigation into a tragic house fire that left two people dead in Rare village in the Lari area.
According to official reports, the couple Peter Kimani Kuria and Mirriam Muthoni were found dead after their home was engulfed in flames while they slept.
Preliminary reports suggest that an electrical fault sparked the fire, as neighbors had reported multiple power outages in recent days.

Benjamin Gatambia, a neighbor who witnessed the aftermath, revealed that Peter Kimani's body was found burned beyond recognition in their bedroom. In contrast, Mirriam Muthoni's body was discovered near the main door, indicating she tried to escape the inferno.
The bodies have been taken to the City Mortuary for further examination.
Gitithia Location Chief Samuel Kahoro confirmed the incident, stating that investigations are ongoing and a final report will be released. He also mentioned plans to coordinate with the Kenya Power and Lighting Company to audit property damage caused by recent power outages comprehensively.
